The “Bit o’ Lace” was a B-17 Flying Fortress bomber used during World War II, famous for its striking nose art. The artwork depicted a glamorous pin-up girl in lingerie, painted by Corporal Tony Starcer, who was renowned for his nose art during the war. The aircraft was part of the 447th Bomb Group of the Eighth Air Force, stationed in England.
